RUNAWAYS Money Guide: Credz, Loot Values, and Cash Runs

How money works in RUNAWAYS — the two currencies, every loot value worth stealing, pawn shop prices, and the fastest legal-ish ways to farm Credz.

RUNAWAYS runs on two currencies that never mix: loot-cash, which exists only inside a run and dies with you, and Credz, the permanent balance that buys classes and vehicles. Confusing the two is the most expensive beginner mistake in the game — cash buys your survival kit, Credz buys your career. This guide covers both economies end to end.

The Two Currencies

Loot-cashCredz
Earned byRobbing and pawning, in a runDaily quests, distance payouts, codes
Spent onFuel, ammo, armor, backpacks, medkits, weaponsClasses, vehicles (permanent)

A run’s cash funds the run. Credz fund every future run. Every decision below serves one of those two accounts.

What to Steal: Loot Values That Matter

Not all loot is equal — the spread between junk and treasure is enormous. The anchor rule: sell the guitar before you steal the toaster.

The Steal List

ItemSell ValueWhere
Cat Statue$1,800Homes (draggable by car)
King Crown$1,500Homes
Statue Thinker$1,000Homes (draggable by car)
Diamond Ring$730Homes
Diamond$720Homes
Gold Tiara$705Homes
Gold Diamond Necklace$650Homes
Gold Bar$500Bank safes and homes
Ruby$360Homes
Diamond Watch$355Houses and apartments
Trophy~$200Homes

The Leave List

Toasters ($25), basketballs ($15), boxes ($10) are inventory pollution. Every slot they occupy is a slot not holding a $730 ring. Press X to drop junk on the spot; keep the bag full of gold-tier items only.

The Money Spikes

Once you own the crowbar ($800):

  • Safes (red and green houses, banks) — pay in Gold Bars and high-tier loot. Texas has the densest safe clusters in the game (escape route guide).
  • ATMs — pry them for a fast cash spike.
  • Store registers — grocery stores, gas stations, gun shops. Quick, low-risk, stackable.
  • Draggable statues — the Cat Statue and Statue Thinker can be hauled by car. High value, awkward transport; take them when the vehicle is nearby.

The Pawn Shop: Sell Here, Buy Here

TrashAmerica Pawn is both your income and your gear store. Buy-side prices:

ItemCostNotes
Crowbar$800The first purchase of every run
Small Backpack$1,000+carry capacity
Medium Backpack$5,000Mid-run upgrade
Large Backpack$12,000Turns a 10-slot bag into a medkit crate
Light Armor$2,000Early survivability
Heavy Armor$10,000Border-fight mandatory
Medic Pack$1,500Best heal-per-slot
Medic Bag$750Cheaper heal
Bandage$400Emergency top-up
Bullet Pack Light$200Light-ammo weapons
Bullet Pack Shotgun$300Shotguns
Bullet Pack Heavy$500Sniper, Revolver
Bullet Pack Explosive$650RPG-7, Grenade Launcher
Bullet Box Light$2,000Bulk light ammo — Minigun food

Two buying rules: ammo must match the weapon (Light, Heavy, Shotgun, and Explosive are not interchangeable), and sell your own kit by mistake is a real menu hazard — check twice before confirming a sale.

The Purchase Order That Works

For a normal escape run, buy in roughly this order:

  1. Crowbar ($800) — unlocks the money spikes.
  2. Small Backpack ($1,000) — capacity gates income.
  3. A real melee weapon — Bat ($500) → Machete ($1,700). See the weapon list.
  4. Fuel reserve — always keep enough cash for the next tank; fuel prices climb southward.
  5. Medium Backpack ($5,000) as towns allow.
  6. Heavy Armor ($10,000) + medkits (15+) in Oklahoma/Texas — the border kit.
  7. A gun if the run is rich — MAC ($2,000) is the budget door into ranged combat.

Earning Credz: The Permanent Economy

Credz buy the Smuggler class (45k), the T-1000 (220k), everything permanent. Three income streams:

  1. Daily quests. Three per day, reset every 24 hours, tied to normal play (collect cash, steal items). Complete all three before the reset — unfinished progress is lost.
  2. Distance payouts. End-of-run Credz scale with how far south you travelled. Even a failed run that crossed two state lines pays; a fast vehicle literally earns more per hour.
  3. Codes. RUN currently gives 1,000 Credz — see the codes list. Small, but free.

The synergy: a better vehicle covers more distance per run, which pays more Credz, which buys better vehicles. The T-1000 at 220k is the free-to-play pivot point of that flywheel.

Common Money Mistakes

  1. Dying with a full wallet. Cash does not survive death. If you’re rich and hurt, spend it on armor and meds now.
  2. Robbing while broke on fuel. The next tank is a fixed cost; reserve for it before upgrading weapons.
  3. Hauling three guns and no slots. A second gun is not worth ten rings. One weapon, one ammo type, maximum loot.
  4. Skipping daily quests. It’s the only Credz stream that pays while you sleep — three quests, every day.
  5. Fighting for pocket change. A fist fight after a pawn sale is how a full wallet becomes a revive screen. Loot and leave.

FAQ

What is the most valuable item in RUNAWAYS?

The Cat Statue at $1,800 — draggable by car. Among safe loot, Gold Bars ($500) stack fastest. The High Roller badge needs $50,000 held at once, which Texas safes make reachable.

How do I earn Credz fast in RUNAWAYS?

Three daily quests every day, plus drive as far south as possible every run — distance drives the end-of-run Credz payout. A faster car compounds this.

Is loot-cash lost when you die?

Yes. Everything in-run — cash, inventory, gear bought that run — is gone on death. Only lobby purchases (Credz) persist.

What should my first purchase be?

The crowbar, $800, at the first pawn shop. It converts every safe, ATM, and register on the map into income.

Do items sell for different prices at different pawn shops?

No — TrashAmerica pays the same rates everywhere. Sell at whichever shop is closest; distance walked with loot is risk accrued for nothing.
